About Those Crazy Gilberts

Those Crazy Gilberts are Daniel and Sara Gilbert, a nerd-tastic couple currently living in Chicago, Illinois. Their credentials include, two collective years of stage craft which may, or may not have taught us skills relevant to crafting cosplay, three collective years of costuming, one of which one of us may or may not have flunked out of, and decades of comic book, anime and video game fanaticism that may or may not border on the realms of “crazy.”  Our first major cosplay project was Subject Delta and Eleanor Lamb from Bioshock 2, a project of such scope that we were often referred to as “crazy” by our friends and associates.

Those Crazy Gilberts and Alana Cosplay

On to the marital bliss section of our sub-title. We’ve been married for five years, dated for three years and been nerd-tastic friends for three years prior so, if addition skill are up to snuff, that makes a grand total of 11 years of our relationship. Our first project took up a year’s worth of work and tested the metal of our communication and marital awesomeness but, after enjoying the success of our debut, we’ll be cooking something else up for next year’s C2E2. We’ll continue to work together to create spectacular cosplay and continue to strengthen the ol’ marital bonds.

And so, our powers combined, we are: Those Crazy Gilberts.

    To the Crazy Gilberts,

This is Tanner Bivens from Tanner Reviews. I was hoping to send you a private message but I can’t seem to find an email so I decided to leave you a comment.

I will be attending Ohayocon January 24th to the 26th 2014 in Columbus Ohio. Seeing as how your specialize in Cosplay I thought I would invite you there. Theme is magical girls. Just send me a message if you are interested.

You know…. You’re so right. We don’t have any contact info up which we should totally do. I checked out some pics from last years Ohayocon and it looks awesome! But at the rate we’re going with Subject Delta and having not even started on Eleanor we probably won’t be able to get anything going by January. But we’ll keep an eye on it just in case the travel bug bites us and we can slap something together. Looks like early registration starts in September? — Sara

Yep. I’ll be signing up soon myself. Plan on attending a few more but right now that is the only one guaranteed on my schedule. Myself and my crew of friends and misfits will be there so you should definitely check it out.
